“Not Without A Purpose, Not Without A Fight!” – the motto of the energetic Street Dogs. These dogs have plenty of fight, when you go see them, be sure to wear your comfortable shoes because you are going to be jumping and/or moshing! The band’s frontman is singer Mike McColgan, a veteran of the (first) Gulf War and original frontman of Boston’s infamous DROPKICK MURPHY’S. There is no lack of stage presence or energy with the Vandals, but they had an uphill battle when it comes to venues as the indoor stage areas at the OC Fairgrounds are super challenging for live music performances. From what I understand, Musink is considering moving the bands outdoors next year, so lets keep our fingers crossed for that! The Vandals are probably one of the best bands when it comes to combatting technical adversity like what was seen at the 7th Annual Musink Tattoo Convention and Music Festival in Costa Mesa. From the start there were issues with…

I have to admit, this was my first time checking out Love Canal so I don’t have any “back when I was in High School” memories about this Huntington Beach band. They do have some experienced members, like Bob Gnarly who has played with Youth Brigade. They have a classic punk sound, but in my opinion they need some Monster Energy to help them kick it in. The guitar, the bass, the drums were all pretty good… I’d like to see some stronger vocals. A few dives in the audience or something may be all they need to liven it…

Devil’s Brigade didn’t disappoint at the Anaheim House of Blues show this past St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The band has a great energy with super talents like bass player Matt Freeman from Rancid. There was an appearance from Tim “Timebomb” Armstrong that took the entire evening over the top, I was psyched to see all these Rancid guys on the stage, it was a great kicker for an already sweet Devil’s Brigade show! These guys play high energy music and they do it with musicianship. When you go to a Devil’s Brigade show you aren’t going to simply get your…

Fronted by Aimee Allen, The Interrupters were a pleasant surprise at the recent Anaheim House of Blues show. The band opened for Devil’s Brigade and Street Dogs for a great St. Patrick’s Day weekend. This Los Angeles based band is getting ready to release an 11 song self-titled debut album for Hellcat Records featuring the song “My Family” with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong. Tim is definitely a supporter as I also heard him promoting the band on his SiriusXM show (Tim Timebomb and Friends) the following Monday. Watching them live is great, the entire band has a fun and uplifting vibe…
