Devil’s Brigade didn’t disappoint at the Anaheim House of Blues show this past St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The band has a great energy with super talents like bass player Matt Freeman from Rancid. There was an appearance from Tim “Timebomb” Armstrong that took the entire evening over the top, I was psyched to see all these Rancid guys on the stage, it was a great kicker for an already sweet Devil’s Brigade show! These guys play high energy music and they do it with musicianship. When you go to a Devil’s Brigade show you aren’t going to simply get your eardrums blasted into thinking that perhaps the band is playing something good, you’ll know it the minute they take the stage. There was a great moment when Donald J. “DJ” Bonebrake (An Original Member of the punk band X, also in The Knitters and The Germs) took to the chimes during a song. These guys are great, I love seeing them every chance I get! House of Blues in Anaheim is a great venue too because there are plenty of places to get a beverage or some fresh air when needed. When the wife and I go, we start with some dinner at the bar and then we move into the concert area and go all the way toward the front by the stage-right bar. You are super close to the band, a bar, and you can still see the mosh pit from a comfortable distance (best of all worlds).
