Cal Lutheran students are active. They bike to class, hike in the hillsides, migrate to yoga classes. They play intramural football, basketball, soccer, softball and other sports. They’re involved in clubs to practice fencing, lacrosse, Tang Soo Do and more.

Cal Lutheran is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and the NCAA Division III. Over the last decade, Cal Lutheran teams have won 60+ SCIAC championships.
Fielding 21 teams, our newest addition is Men’s Volleyball, starting in 2015.

FITNESS & OUTDOOR RECREATION
Forrest Fitness Center
The spacious 9,500 square foot center is complete with state of the art equipment including free weights, weight machines, a resistance training circuit, and a newly updated cardio mezzanine. Fitness classes, such as yoga and the CLU Fitness Bootcamp take place throughout the week and the Samuelson Aquatic Center next door is open for lap swimming mornings and afternoons.
Outdoor Recreation
The mountains and beaches of Ventura County offer limitless opportunity for outdoor activities. The Outdoor Recreation program at Cal Lutheran also creates opportunities throughout the year for students to travel off campus and experience recreational activities, such as hiking in Yosemite, snowboarding in Utah, rock climbing in Joshua Tree and surfing in Ventura.
