    Sam I Am

I was first approached to be involved with the Capistrano Unified School District in 1992, by two very persuasive ladies, Jackie Price and Linda Thomas. They double-teamed me and I was cornered with passion. I joined the board. I went in as an ex-teacher/coach and wide-eyed.

It was exciting to be involved with a district that has a graduation rate in the high nineties and some of the most proactive bi-lingual curricula in the USA. In 1994 these two familiar characters (Jackie and Linda) invite me (corral) to Jackie’s office at the CUSD offices. They inform me they took a straw poll and I’ve been elected the next President of the organization. I immediately start recruiting my successor, it is always better to be the past president.

Actually, to date this has been the most fulfilling position and group experience I’ve encountered in our south county community. Folks, go to the CUSD Educational Foundation website, www.cusdfoundation.org and go to the tab that prompts you to get involved. We need to step up the fundraising for teacher grants and classroom expenses outside the budgetary limits. We’re looking for volunteers with time, treasure, talent, and fundraising ideas.

In this regard, we have teamed up with GiveDish, one of the most unique and innovative dining and fundraising concepts to ever evolve. This partnership is laced with social media and a marketing flywheel brand in conjunction with education. If you are involved with any PTA in the Capistrano Valley or Saddleback Valley or any athletic or educational/sports booster club, join us. Do you know a restaurant owner who will support your organization? Huge exposure for restaurants with extensive no-cost social media. GiveDish will put seats in their seats.Team up with GiveDish and CUSD Foundation, call me personally at (949) 498-0705 to discuss.

Sam I am, Sam I can, Sam I will, Sam I did!
Sam would never say this. Sam I am Is too humble, too focused to boast.
Sam really is the man, a gentleman.
Sam is a kid who kicks the can. Sam is the man going to Cleveland.
Not exactly where the sun spends the winter.
But it will be number one.
Everyone tries to create the next cool adjective to describe a unique star from pizazz, moxie, swag…that nerve verve, spirit the “IT” factor, truly comes around rarely.
Well, Sam has that SAM factor.
It’s this relentless wave of un-emotion. Every thought is stealth desire.
Regardless of the outcome of the last play, Sam’s eyes resemble a computer screen. Groping for more data as he scans the sideline.
    Next Play Baby!

A tad robotic, but definitely stealth.

Ok. I’ll end this with what many may accuse me of, embellishment.

In fall 2013, I told anyone who would listen that Sam Darnold would be a Division One Quarterback, and this was after his season was lost to injury playing against Dana Hills within the first month. Folks from LA and Big Bear would just kind of say nothing, nod or raise their eyebrows.

In the fall of 2014, I declared Sam would be a starter for a major Division One University and play on Sundays. Folks from the Inland Empire to my network in San Diego would look at me dumbfounded!
After he declared for USC, I adamantly foretold he would take over as the starter in competition against Max Brown. Had my local critics on that peculiar prophecy.

After his first three games as the Trojan starter, I declared he would be a number one draft pick in the NFL. More eyebrows.
Before the end of that regular season, looking ahead at the prospects, I predicted to anyone who would give an ear that he would go number one in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Need credibility witnesses? In December of 2016, roaming the sidelines of the San Clemente Tritons, I ran into Mike Darnold Sr.; and Sam’s father, Mike Darnold Jr., and shared these thoughts. They both raised their eyebrows and Mike Jr. says, “Thanks Bradley for your confidence. We’re just focused on the next game, you know, it’s called the Rose Bowl, against a team named Nittany Lions. Penn State, Brad, Penn State.”

One-Eleven Coastal, SouthCoast Magazine and the Triton Nation present the official draft day celebration, Sam Darnold goes number one. (April 26, 111 Ave. Del Mar) Congratulations Sam I am!
