Bed & Breakfast Guest Rooms at Historic Knickerbocker Mansion
The second floor of the Mansion houses our four historical legacy rooms. Just down the hall from any of these rooms at our Big Bear Lake bed & breakfast you will exit onto a veranda that runs the length of the Mansion at the second level, providing tables and chairs for conversations, writing, an afternoon rest, or for watching 4th of July fireworks above the lake. Sitting atop the mansion is the Mansion Suite, with its own private balcony. Our legacy rooms and Mansion Suite are complete with complimentary wifi, Keurig Coffee Makers, Italian bottled water, Southern Pecan Pralines, and botanical bath products.
Carriage House Rooms
Although originally the “barn” that Bill Knick built along with the Mansion, The Carriage House has been renovated extensively over the years to become house charming Big Bear Lake B&B guest rooms. A suite and a handicap room occupy the ground level, while the attic, where the Big Bear Masonic Lodge meetings were held at the turn of the century, now houses our four standard Forest Rooms. All rooms have complimentary wifi and private baths.
Private Guestroom & Entrance at Knickerbocker Mansion
Tucked away on the lower level of the owner’s private home is a cozy guestroom with queen bed, full private bath with tub and shower, complementary wifi, and a separate exterior entrance. Trimmed with rustic log furniture and wood paneling, a welcoming quiet room providing singular privacy, yet with the immediate convenience of the Mansion facility, the village, the lake, forest and Bistro, all at a comfortable price. Accommodates two adults.
Fine Dining at The Bistro
The Bistro is open to the public for dinner Friday and Saturdays from 5:00-9:00 pm, as well as Sundays for brunch from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. The menu will please the most discriminating palette and includes some of the best wines Napa Valley has to offer. Advance reservations are required.
A full commercial kitchen is the creative workplace of Chef Robert Velasquez, Knickerbocker Mansion executive chef. Breakfast, always included with your stay, will be remembered long after you have returned home, and should never be missed! Our Big Bear Lake restaurant, known as the “Bistro at the Mansion”, displays the talent of Chef Robert, Friday and Saturday nights by reservation and brunch on Sundays. It is, perhaps, the very best fine dining experience at Big Bear Lake!
SUNDAY NEW ORLEANS STYLE BRUNCH – Open for Sunday Brunch from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Featuring new selections with a Southern flair. Fresh baked butter croissants, blueberry & white chocolate raspberry scones with honey butter, assorted jams, coffee and tea, bottomless mimosas, and bananas foster bread pudding included. Omelettes and Bistro Brunch Specialties range from $16-$32.

The “Workshop” is the 2nd floor of a new building on the Knickerbocker property with direct bridge access for the main parking area. It offers large windows with spectacular views of the surrounding forest and occupancy up to 50 people. High-speed Internet access is available and multi-line telephones.
With occupancy of up to 50 people, it is just the right size for an intimate gathering. Rectangular as well as round banquet tables with high quality stacking chairs are on site and available for the asking. A projection system for video presentations is available. This multi-purpose space is secluded, private and yet steps from the main lodge.
