Business or pleasure? At Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel you can be sure you’ll accomplish both.
The hotel’s sexy new redesign, completed this month, boasts new glass balconies and improved crystal clear views of the Pacific Ocean, making work time and down time a little more pleasurable during your stay. The fresh new exterior façade is the beginning of a series of capital investments to keep the hotel fresh and competitive within the thriving Santa Monica hotel scene, a.k.a. Silicon Beach.
“The technology industry’s top executives work hard and play hard—so the decision comes down to where you want to start and end your day,” said Sarah Best, Director of Sales. “Overlooking the Pacific and within walking distance to the city’s best shopping and dining is an obvious choice, especially when you’ve earned it.”
Future enhancements include a “living wall,” to buffer sound as well as produce oxygen and reduce carbon dioxide—a green design initiative that advances the hotel’s existing Santa Monica Green Business Certification, an honor given to businesses that have taken measurable steps to incorporate sustainable practices in their operations, such as conserving natural resources and preventing pollution.
“Innovation and environmental protection are at the very core of who we are in Santa Monica and the hotel will continue to pursue endeavors such as the green wall to further ensure we’re doing our best to embody the community’s respect and reverence for our ocean front location,” said Best.
The hotel features 632 guestrooms, including 32 suites as well as over 48,000-square-feet of meeting space. The property will remain open while undergoing a $26 million renovation beginning later this year. “We continually look to enhance our uniquely local guest experiences through our style of comfortable luxury and genuine service combined with properties in the best locations,” said Jonathan Tisch, Chairman of Loews Hotels. “The Loews Hollywood Hotel embodies the essence of Los Angeles and the addition of our signature services and upgraded amenities will match the energy and vibrant culture of Hollywood.”
A cultural landmark, the hotel opened in 2001 and established itself as the premier location in the movie-making capital of the world. Set with spectacular views of the world-famous Hollywood sign and along the renowned Walk of Fame, the hotel rises 20 stories above the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, placing it in the heart of Los Angeles’ most dynamic neighborhood.
The Loews Hollywood Hotel is part of the Hollywood & Highland Center, giving guests direct access to the 460,000-square-foot center containing over 80 shops, 26 restaurants and eateries, two nightclubs, seven movie screens, eight bars, 12 bowling lanes, the newly renamed Dolby Theatre, which is where the Academy Awards®are held. The property is also conveniently accessible to the Hollywood Bowl amphitheater and Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and movie studio.
Guests can expect the creative elements and amenities, innovative programs and superior service for which Loews Hotels is known. The hotel’s most defining features – the spa, pool terrace, restaurant and event space – will be enhanced with the uniquely local touches that make Loews Hotels distinct. Wolfgang Puck Catering will continue to partner with Loews in the operation and catering of the 25,000-square-foot ballroom located in the Hollywood and Highland Center complex.
