Operation Redemption
As we began the 2014 season, our motto was #operationredemption. According to Merriam-Webster, “redemption” is defined as the “act of making something better or more acceptable.” There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the 2014 Triton Football team not only redeemed themselves but they went above and beyond.
As the head coach of this program, I could not be any more proud of what this team has accomplished not only on the field but also off. To see these young men band together and become a family is what makes football so special. On the field, there were championships won, records broken and the “Spirit of Triton Football” was back. Off the field, there was the adoption of the HMLA Squadron, AP and IB Tests, raising our team GPA to a 3.02 and wearing our Triton “T” with pride.
If you attended a game this season, you saw a perfect example of what #onetownoneteam is all about. The boys with their hard work and dedication made it possible and for that, I am forever grateful.
I would like to thank the SCHS Administration, our medical staff, the entire Touchdown Club and our coaching staff for all the hard work and dedication throughout the season. We could not do what we do as a program without everyone’s effort and participation. I am a firm believer that it is important to not only find quality coaches, but also quality people. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many outstanding individuals on a daily basis.
I would also like to thank the San Clemente community. The support we received throughout the year was amazing. The stands were packed and everyone showed their “Triton Spirit” each and every Friday night. There is nothing better than driving around town and seeing the Triton “T” on the majority of cars on the road. The City of San Clemente is a special place and we are so lucky to call this town our own.
Last but not least, I would like to thank the senior football players for their hard work and dedication in representing Triton Football. They fearlessly lead our team to greatness and made the entire program shine.
We have a favorite motto: “Once a Triton, Always a Triton.” As the seniors go off into the real world, always remember that you have a special home at San Clemente High School and Triton Football.
