Matthew Coulson, MD
Pediatrics
Matthew Coulson, MD, says that he chose a career in pediatrics because he is truly a child at heart. He believes that children are more impressionable than adults and enjoys working with parents to ensure their kids are happy and healthy.
Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Coulson is humbled by the tremendous amount of trust that his patients and families put in him as a physician. He strongly believes that physicians have a responsibility to educate their patients and stay up-to-date on preventative medicine.
“I love the responsibility, and I love the opportunity to teach. Sometimes education and preventative medicine are more important and more powerful than a written prescription.”
Dr. Coulson completed his medical education at St. George’s University School of Medicine, West Indies, in 2003. He returned to Southern California to finish his internship and residency at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange, California, from 2004 to 2006, and was honored to serve as Chief Resident for the following year.
Dr. Coulson was born and raised in Southern California and believes that it is a great place to raise a family. He currently resides in Orange County with his wife and two sons. In his free time, Dr. Coulson loves cheering on his favorite sports teams with his family as well as playing soccer, golfing, and skiing.
