    Todos Santos ~ ¡Pueblo Mágico!

Todos Santos is a small Mexican coastal town in Baja California and is known for its many galleries, the slow pace of life, and stunning beaches. It is the home base to many artists and is particularly popular amongst surfers in search of smooth waves and sunny beach days. This pastel-colored, colonial town is the epitome of slow living and quite the contrast to the bustling and lively city of Cabo San Lucas, which is only an hour south of Todos Santos.

    HACIENDA TODOS LOS SANTOS
Boutique Hotel and Suites is an enchanting hideaway situated on 12 acres of oasis gardens in the heart of old Todos Santos, one of Mexico’s Pueblos Mágicos, with its ancient Mission, fine restaurants, cultural centers and art galleries. All are within easy walking distance from the Hacienda’s entrance; our magnificent beaches are just a short distance away. Choose from the comfort and luxury of 4 luxurious suites set in an exquisite colonial style building or 1 beautifully appointed guesthouse inviting to all special guests with upscale comfort, providing the best in sumptuous beds, private terraces or balconies with glorious views, swimming pool, fountain terraced gardens and flowing streams all within a private natural oasis. While staying in their oasis gardens, you will delight in your location, lounge in the privacy and comfort of your guesthouse or suite, swim in the pool or if it’s sand, sea and surf, a romantic Mexican sunset or moonlight that you desire, it’s only a short distance to our spectacular beaches, their backdrop the majestic Sierra de la Laguna Mountains.

    WORLD SURFING RESERVE
Enjoy the experience in Todos Santos

The Bahía de Todos Santos area is an epicenter for surfing in Mexico. From San Miguel to the other end of the bay, in this small area lie point breaks, beach breaks and world-class big-wave venues. It’s a paradise for all surfers, from the beginner to the most established big-wave surfers in the world. México is a country where the large major cities on the coast have very few public spaces, and as a result the beach often serves as an unofficial park. It is a natural open space with free access, a place to walk and relax. Families spend their Sundays on the sand, people of all walks of life enjoy a multitude of aquatic sports, and fishing is both a popular pastime as well as a means of putting food on the table. The Pacific coast of México is blessed with some of the best surf breaks in the world. Baja Californians are fortunate to have in our heritage Todos Santos, San Miguel, Salsipuedes, and too many others to name here. Today we also have the distinct honor of caretaking the first World Surfing Reserve in Mexico, a great achievement, source of pride, and important responsibility. Most impressive is the high quality of waves found within the Reserve boundaries, which include Salsipuedes, San Miguel, 3M’s, Stacks and the big wave spot Killers on Isla Todos Santos.

RELEASE BABY TURTLES INTO THE OCEAN
Without a doubt, one of the cutest things to do in Todos Santos is to release baby sea turtles into the ocean at sunset. Just after the sun has gone down, freshly hatched turtles are set on their way into the rough Pacific Ocean to start their journey of life! There are three types of endangered sea turtles that come to the beaches of Todos Santos to lay their eggs. The Olive Ridley, Green (often referred to as Black) and the critically endangered Leatherback. Tortugueros Las Playitas is a local non-profit environmental group that aims to protect sea turtles, restore their habitats and increase the population of Leatherback Turtles, which are on the verge of extinction. During the hatching season, volunteers patrol the beaches nightly to find nests of eggs. To prevent damage from predators or local poachers, the eggs are transplanted to a protected greenhouse and buried in the sand. There is a permanent incubator greenhouse set up on the beach, that is completely fenced off and locked. The shelter of the greenhouse also helps to regulate the temperature of the sand, which ensures an equal gender balance in new hatchlings. If the temperature is too warm, the hatchlings will more likely be male. And if it’s too cool, there will be more females, throwing out the natural balance.

    TODOS SANTOS SHOPPING
    Shop Local

One of the best ways to shop in Todos Santos is to wander through its colorful streets and browse the artisan shops and boutiques (by the way, Cien Palmas is just two blocks away from it all!) You’ll find everything from handmade Mexican pottery, textiles, locally-made clothing, locally-made apothecary to modern fashion designs and accessories. Whether you’re looking for something traditional or something hip and cool, you’ll find it all in this charming and vibrant town. So, if you’re planning a trip to Todos Santos, be sure to add shopping to your list of things to do – you won’t be disappointed! Almost all Todos Santos boutiques are women owned! By shopping here, you’ll be supporting women owned businesses and local charities and organizations as many of the shops give back to the community as well. Win-win! There are tons of artisan shops and art galleries throughout the beautiful Todos Santos streets.
